Career-related Website Review
Pubmed has been
very useful for different branches related to scientific research in the
university, this is a freely accessible database specialized in health
sciences, with more than 19 million bibliographical references. PubMed not only
allows simple searches but also runs more complex queries through search
functions for fields, MeSH terms or limits . The results of these searches can
be saved with different tools and displayed in distinct formats.
This is one of
the most efficient search engines I have used in my work and research at the
university for several reasons:
Because it is
accessible on the Internet and the thousands of professionals who, on a daily
basis, demand and find the most up-to-date biomedical information.
It includes works
published in more than 5,300 scientific journals in the field of medicine and
dentistry. And because it also allows, in many references, access to the full
text of the article.
The biggest problem when looking for a scientific article in Pubmed is that sometimes this is not free and you have to pay an established cost. On the other hand, sometimes a scientific article on a particular topic does not appear quickly, so you must know how to put keywords to find a specific article.
